Ag Retail Quoting

Bushel's quoting tool streamlines your quote management process and improves communication with your farmers.

Overview

The Ag Retail Quoting feature simplifies the process of managing and sending quotes for agricultural inputs between Ag Retail staff and farmers. This tool lets staff create detailed quotes for a variety of products, including Chemical, Energy, Feed, Fertilizer, and Seed. At the same time, it offers farmers a user-friendly way to request quotes, view them, and either accept or decline them directly through the app.

Key Features

For Staff:

  • Quote Creation: Generate quotes for various agricultural inputs including Chemical, Energy, Feed, Fertilizer, and Seed.
  • Product Management: Upload and update your entire product list via a .csv file, including product name, price per unit, unit of measure, and category. This ensures accurate and up-to-date pricing for all quoted items.
  • Quote Finalization & Availability: Once a quote is finalized, it becomes immediately available for the farmer to view within the app.
  • Communication Tools: Send email or push notifications to farmers upon quote creation or as reminders.
  • Quote Expiration: Set an expiration date for quotes, after which the quote will no longer be accessible to the farmer.
  • Flexible Filtering: Filter your quote list by status, account, category, and other relevant criteria for efficient management.

For Farmers:

  • Quote Requests: Directly request quotes for desired agricultural inputs through the app.
  • In-App Quote Viewing: View finalized quotes sent by staff users directly within the application.
  • Accept or Decline Quotes: Conveniently accept or decline quotes within the app.
  • Price Visibility: Product pricing is only visible to farmers after a staff user sends a quote to them.
  • Flexible Filtering: Filter your quote list by status, account, category, and other relevant criteria to easily find specific quotes.

How it Works

For Staff Users:

  1. Upload Product List: To begin, upload your product list as a .csv file. This file must include:
    • Name (name of the product)
    • Price (per UoM)
    • UoM (Unit of Measure - e.g., lbs, gallons, bags)
    • Category (must be Chemical, Energy, Feed, Fertilizer, or Seed)
    • Note: This file should be re-uploaded each time there are changes to your product offerings or pricing.
  2. Create a New Quote: Navigate to the "Quoting" section and select "Create New Quote."
  3. Add Products: Search and add products from your uploaded list to the quote. Specify quantities for each product.
  4. Set Expiration (Optional): Enter an expiration date for the quote if desired.
  5. Finalize and Send: Once all products are added and details confirmed, finalize the quote. You will then have the option to send an email or push notification to the farmer, informing them that the quote is ready.
  6. Manage Quotes: View and manage all your quotes from the main quoting dashboard. Use the filter options (Status, Account, Category, etc.) to quickly locate specific quotes. You can send reminders to farmers about pending quotes at any time.

For Farmer Users:

  1. Request a Quote: From the app's main menu, navigate to the "Quoting" section and select "Request a Quote." Provide details about the products you are interested in.
  2. View Incoming Quotes: You will receive a notification (email or push, if enabled) when a new quote has been sent to you. Access the quote through the notification or by navigating to the "My Quotes" section in the app.
  3. Review Quote Details: Open the quote to view the breakdown of products, quantities, and pricing.
  4. Accept or Decline: At the bottom of the quote details, you will find options to "Accept Quote" or "Decline Quote."
  5. Track Quote Status: Monitor the status of your quotes (e.g., Pending, Accepted, Declined, Expired) from your "My Quotes" list. Use filtering options to organize your view.
